This Air-Force day will also include Renaissance music as a contrast to Schnabel’s “Circus”. We will play all together in two of the sessions for the piece by Schnabel and in the other sessions we will split into a chamber ensemble and a bigger ensemble to play renaissance music. Please bring your renaissance instruments (440 Hz) if you have them. Don’t worry if not, ‘normal’ baroque recorders are also fine.

Dietrich Schnabel, Circus in Aberdeen (2015)

Circus in Abderdeen is a composition in symphonic style by the German composer Dietrich Schnabel. This 11-minute work consists, however through-composed, of many sections and atmospheres. After a festive and playful ouverture, there is a merry march, followed by a cantabile trapeze-episode, some marching ducks, giant cats, plate spinning, a horse show, a fortune telling snake, and many many more acts set in music. Lots and lots of symphonic fun in this Sn S A T B B Gb Contra piece!

You are required to make at least three choices from the list here below. This can be done by checking the boxes to the left of the instrument names. We will allocate the instruments and get in touch with you when the registration is closed.
